Safeguarding Policy
At JG7, we understand our responsibility to ensuring that all children and participants are safe and protected at all times. We promote the welfare of all children and ensure that we maintain our high standards and expectations. All members of staff have a full DBS check and come with the relevant qualifications to ensure the safety of all of our children. This document highlights our duties and responsibilities to all children within our care and supervision, but also how we will maintain these responsibilities and standards.
What we do if we suspect a child is being abused:
ALL JG7 staff have an important role to play in recognising signs and symptoms of possible abuse or neglect throughout their time they spend with children. It is important that all staff know what to do should they have any concerns over any child welfare issues. We make it our responsibility to know about all of the children in our care and supervision as much as possible in a professional manner. As a company we aim to encourage and promote a safe environment where children feel their concerns can be addressed. Further to this, we at JG7 aim to create excellent working relationships with parents/carers, schools, staff and other agencies to promote child welfare. This also includes following their safeguarding and child protection policies alongside ours. This coupled with the awareness of the indicators of abuse and neglect will allow our staff to take concerns seriously and effectively. This includes any form of abuse, even if it’s minor.
Reporting of any incidents will be reported to Jake Gower of whom will ensure that the concern is addressed in the appropriate manner with the child, school, parents or relevant authorities. This will also be logged by JG7 for a maximum of one year for data protection and child welfare purposes.
What we do if a child informs us of abuse:
ALL of our staff will follow the same protocol to ensure that full safety of the child is ensured. Our protocols are as follows:
· We will never promise to a child that the information they disclose will stay between them and the individual staff member
· We will actively listen throughout and also note down any key points to recollect and provide evidence through an incident report form
· Information will only be shared with the relevant people and/or authorities
· We will ensure our responsibilities are adhered to and engaged with the child for the full duration
Reporting of abuse:
ALL information we receive will be reported to Jake Gower to then be discussed with the relevant authorities:
· Upon completion of the incident report form, Jake Gower will decide how to take it further
· Services may be contacted if necessary – Children’s Services 0344 800 8014 or LADO 01603 223473 – if urgent and an emergency contact the police 999
· Dependent on the venue, please ensure that the relevant staff are informed e.g. Headteacher or Designated Safeguarding Lead
ALL JG7 Staff will ensure they adhere to this policy throughout their working hours and will always look to ensure they are delivering best practice. We will also make sure that all staff have the appropriate and relevant training and qualifications to enable the best possible environment for the children. Finally, ALL staff will be provided with a copy to our safeguarding policy in addition to relevant venue risk assessments and registers to ensure full safety of all participants.
Cancellation policy
JG7 Coaching ensures that each participant is treated fairly and this applies for our cancellation policy also. We reserve the right to hold a 24-hour cancellation period to which the sessions or activities must be paid for within 24 hours. This means that if the participant is unable to attend and has cancelled within 24 hours of the scheduled start time, they will still be charged for their attendance. There are extreme circumstances that can’t be controlled and we are happy to discuss this with the participant upon reasoning for cancellation.
